Introduction
The licensing for MyDiamo is composed of four different types of license policies; the MDFL, MDCL Lite, MDCL Premium and MDML


MyDiamo Free License (MDFL)
MDFL (MyDiamo Free License) for non-profit users allows users to evaluate the product without any charge. Please keep in mind that, with MDFL, you can encrypt up to 10 columns and create up to 10 security policies. Also, please note that MDFL supports only up to 128-bit encryption. It is necessary to renew the license once a month. If you do not activate the license within a week, it will be expired.

Commercial License – MDCL Lite
MDCL Lite (MyDiamo Commercial License) is designed for users who want to use MyDiamo commercially. With MDCL Lite, users can encrypt columns and create security policies as 256-bit encryption. In addition to encrypting data with high-level security, MDCL Lite can help users comply with regulations such as HIPAA or PCI-DSS. It is necessary to pay through PayPal for using this license. Once you pay, we will offer online assistance to resolve any technical issues during installation or operations for the first year (users have 3 tickets for technical support). Since the following year, users have to purchase MDML to get technical supports.

Commercial License – MDCL Premium
MDCL Premium (MyDiamo Commercial License) is designed for users who want to use MyDiamo commercially with premium technical assistance. Once you pay, we will offer online assistance to resolve any technical issues during installation or operations for 1 year. Furthermore, users who paid for MDCL Premium have a designated technical expert. This is a 1-year subscription, but there will be no ticket limit for the support, and the restrictions that apply for MDML subscriptions will not apply. (i.e. the package contains Q&A support, remote support and support for MySQL/MyDiamo version upgrades)

Maintenance License – MDML
MDML (MyDiamo Maintenance License) is designed for users who need to using commercially and technical maintenance. We will provide support for basic issues such as patch, technical support, installation. This is a 1-year subscription, where you get 3 “support tickets” for Zendesk support. The support will be limited to Q&A-type support, and after a year, any remaining tickets will be voided. Since it is limited to Q&A-type support, there will be no remote support or support for MySQL version changes.

Licensing privileges and usage restrictions.

1. Personal users
1) Non-profit
Personal non-profit users may acquire an MDFL and use MyDiamo free of charge.

2) For-profit
Personal users utilizing MyDiamo for business purposes will need to acquire an MDCL.
The uses of MyDiamo with a for-profit intent are classified as follows:
  • Selling MyDiamo to customers
  • Selling software which includes MyDiamo to provide features
  • Selling any hardware system which carries MyDiamo
  • Providing database solution services which utilize MyDiamo for any operations
  • Utilizing a database managed by MyDiamo for any business purposes
  • Using any functions of MyDiamo to provide a commercial service


2. Organizations
1) Non-Profit
Enterprises, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions all require an MDCL, regardless of non-profit/for-profit practices.
2) For-Profit
Enterprises, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions require an MDCL.

3. Technical support services
General inquiries regarding MyDiamo may be discussed among users through the community section of the website forum. Those seeking professional assistance directly from Penta Security Systems engineers will require an MDCL contract.
Issues occurring under an MDFL are left to the responsibility and discretion of the user. Only MyDiamo users under an MDCL contract may receive direct technical support from a Penta Security engineer.


Application of GPL

MyDiamo contains components of the GNU GPL. Software utilizing these source components are subject to the same licensing rules of the GPL.
